Charity Work within the local Community

This year the Practice will be supporting "Reachout" a charity that offers support to disadvantaged young people. The charity was chosen by patient Geoff Allman who supports our Patient Participation Group. Geoff was asked to nominate a charity when his company "Spoken Image" helped us to design our new logo in partnership with the students at Oswald Road Primary School.

Staff Changes

Dr Gill Edmondson has now left the Practice and we wish her well for the future. Dr James Harris will being doing additional sessions so that our number of appointments remain the same. All patients previously registered with Dr Edmondson and will be allocated a new named GP, patients are welcome to choose who their new GP will be should they wish to otherwise just ask the next you come in.

Welcome to our new Patients from the Oswald Road Medical Practice

The Oswald Road Practice which was owned by Dr Black recently closed following her retirement from General Practice. All of the patients have transferred to the Chorlton Family Practice on the 3rd October 2016. We hope that these patients have a positive experience with us and that we can continue to manage their health needs.

To enable us to continue to offer a positive experience to all our patients we have;

  • employed 5 administrative staff (all from Oswald Road)
  • employed 2 new GP's
  • increased our existing GP's clinical sessions
  • employed another healthcare assistant
  • employed a trainee Nurse Practitioner
  • increased our existing nurse time to provide additional Practice Nurse time

We have also installed a new cloud based phone system and will have additional staff managing the phones and the reception desk.

Care Quality Commission Visit - 4th February 2016

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) visited the surgery on Thursday the 4th February. The Report is disappointing and contains some factual inaccuracies despite our feedback to the CQC. The report also conflicts with the evidence reported in the both the General Practice Outcome Standards & the General Practice Higher Level Indicators published by NHS England.

Summaries of the findings can be found here;
